Absent: Dave – Mother’s Day
Start Time: 7:55 p.m.
End Time: 10:30 p.m.
XP awarded: 1,400
Game time elapsed:  8 days
Enemies Defeated:  none

Notes:
Having rested up in Halvenspring for 2 days (Session 30), the Knights bought a cart, 2 mules to pull it, and an oiled canvas to throw over it. Saying their various goodbyes they leave on the morning of the 4th of Winter Waning and begin traveling to Woodspear. They choose to bypass Ramsrun, and instead make a straight shot to Woodspear along the edge of the Firnockt Forest. The journey takes 5 days and they arrive at Woodspear in the evening.

A gate guard named Berke lets them in, and they head to Baron Tullimus’ Manor house to impose on his hospitality (knowing he is not in town and desiring to jibe him by doing so). They meet Frels, the Master of the Manor, who nervously puts them up but summons the Captain of the Guard Rutgard Goodfellow to deal with the issue.

Rutgard proves to be blunt but amicable, and as soon as he determines that the Knights are just passing through and don’t intend to cause trouble he tells the Knights about the Baron’s philosophies and explains that he pretty much runs the Barony in Tullimus’ frequent extended absences. The Baron has reigned for 18 years.

The next morning they head south to Longdock and arrive in the late afternoon. After inquiring where the riverboat captains hang out they are given the names of 3 taverns: Tears for Whiskey Dick, the Bitter Hammock, and Eat the Parrot. They choose the Parrot, and within find Harl, Captain of the Lake Traveler. He tells them the journey could take up to 4 days and charges them 350 total (cart, animals, and all). The journey winds up only takes 2 days because of a favorable wind and the Captain’s decision to travel at night as well as during the day.

They arrive in Carradeen in the evening and disembark. When they ask a city guardsman for a good place to stay, he mistakes Feydor for a Nobleman and directs them to the Ivory Cup Inn.  The servants of the Ivory Cup wear powdered wigs and waistcoats and hose, which prove to be local fashion. The Ivory Cup is an incredibly expensive establishment. They check in and head out to sell and shop, most of which they do in Velar’s Arms of Note – an armory down the street from the Ivory Cup. Session 30

Date: 5/3/2015
Attending: Jake, Dave, Chris, Joey, Justin, Aaron
Absent: None
Start Time: 7:40 p.m.
End Time: 10:20 p.m.
XP awarded: 1,400
Game time elapsed:
Enemies Defeated: 4 Corpsewights, 1 Dark Knight

Notes:
Session picks up immediately. Bajol cautiously enters what is clearly a crypt. The party, minus Fyn who watches from the entry, heads in. They find a large room where an obvious battle has taken place. Branching off of the room are burial chambers. It appears that other adventuring parties have come in at different times to loot the tomb and were all slain here. In one burial chamber the Knights find what appears to be a last stand, and Grigor recovers some mouldering papers. The party also finds a few magic items from the slain adventurers.

At the far end of the room is a door with the engraving “Let the evil within never be released, we ask of Omnos, Brulor, Solarians all” in First World Script. The door clearly has already been opened in the past. Frumious throws it open and calls out a prayer to Omnos. A chilling voice responds from the darkness beyond the door: “Omnos has abandoned the world little memory.”

Bursting from the darkness beyond the door are 4 purple skinned desiccated figures with grossly enlarged fanged teeth. Behind them an armored figure follows. Where his head would be is a floating black skull with flames in the eye sockets. Even Bajol and Feydor, who are normally not afraid of anything, felt a chill of fear in the presence of the black skulled figure.

The party fights and is able to defeat and slay all five enemies. The magical darkness beyond the door is dispelled, revealing a small cell like area. Having eradicated the evil of this tomb, and explored all other tunnels in the system the Knights headed back to town.

The Knights rest up over the course of 2 days in Halvenspring – meeting with Marc Risus and Pharun briefly. During this time Feydor tries to reach out to Ellicor in a dream. He makes contact and learns that word Shardanic does not have a connection with the Shard Peoples, that Omnos is more worthy of devotion than Ellicor, and that the party will find answers when they head west. Feydor tells Ellicor that the carrion King told him not to meddle in this affair to which Ellicor responds that the Carrion King was never subtle. End Session

Session 29

Date: 4/12/2015
Attending: Jake, Dave, Chris, Joey, Justin, Aaron
Absent: None
Start Time: 7:30 p.m.
End Time: 10:30 p.m.
XP awarded: 1,100
Game time elapsed:   about 1.5 days
Enemies Defeated: 4 Steeltoes, 6 Redcaps, 1 Redcap Caster

Notes:
The party retreats back to the ossuary and sleeps to recuperate. They are joined by Feydor and then push on into the newer tunnel where the redcaps are. Heading over a bridge that crosses an underground stream, they passed by a room that contained a chest, suspiciously out in the open. Choosing to ignore it for the moment they pressed on.

They quickly came to another room where 4 Steel Toes, 2 Redcaps, and a Redcap Caster lied in wait. After a brutal battle the party retreated back to rest up again in the ossuary, pausing to search the chest (to find it trapped, of course).  Resting for another 8 hours (where the day changed over in the land above) they returned to the Redcap tunnel and pressed on, coming to a three way intersection.

The tunnel to the right seemed to go on for a long ways, so they turned to the opposite tunnel (left from original perspective) which dead ended in a small room with 2 redcaps (quickly dispatched) and a map tacked to the wall. The map revealed a vast network of tunnels under the Firnockt, with indications that a large force of Tainted Ones was assembling. The party took the map.

Sending Fyn to sneak into the final tunnel he found a vast room with 20 redcaps, 16 steel toes, 1 extremely large steel toe, 2 redcap casters, and one very old redcap wearing bracers instead of a cleaver or staff. The party reacted by hauling ass.

Running down the tunnels they managed to collapse the bridge behind them. Moving out of the new tunnel system they decided to investigate the two unexplored older tunnels at the entrance.

Coming to the first one they opened the heavy stone door to reveal a chambered crypt which held the remains of what appears to be a martial group of some sort. The weapons were still good and proved to be magical, and the party collected them. Resting in the Crypt they moved to examine the final passage which had a door.

The door was covered with weathered runes and inscribed on the center was “Our faith in the Solarians.” The door was also slightly ajar. With a mighty heave Bajol pushed the door open. End Session

Journal Entry #21

Notes to self over the last few days:

Extensive tunnel system exposed by Dorian.

The party spent days trying to clean it out.  Full of Redcaps.

Discovered a crude map that seems to indicate a tunnel system and millitary style movements across the entire region.

On our way out we discovered FW ruins that mentioned the Lilly, and well as the Solarians, of which Bruhlor and Omnos seemed to be a part.

Found some very old undead things (They spoke FWC), and we dispatched them.

We did pick up some weapons an gear that should prove useful.

Upon returning to town we learned that Marc and Pharun already knew the level of Redcap activity in the area.

Met with Klaus Steelpick:

He is here on business from the Underground Mine, but seems to have become charmed by the area.  He also seems to understand his role here in the town.  He hinted that being a member of the Parliment of Owls might be more of a boon than I anticipated.  He did inquire about Marwin and said that when he is around things seem to escalate.

He did not have much information on those threads we have been pursuing, but did suggest we sail West.

The biggest bombshell to drop was a piece of parchment that Klaus gave me with the insigne of the Solarians.  It is a guide to all of the heraldic symbols of what I am supposing are various orders aligned to different Gods/Avatars?

We have a couple of days here in town, and then we head out for Carradeen.  I ought to look for my sister while I am there.
