During the
Illmarian war of succession of 335 SV, commonly called the Treyvan War, Luigi
Guardos was able to invoke the mutual defense treaty of 321 SV, and received
military aid from the Kingdom of the Seven Vales against the forces of his
cousin Mario Treyvan. One of the armies
sent from the Seven Vales was a special unit under the leadership of Lieutenant
General Karl. The bulk of the forces from the Seven Vales were conscripts, and
the conscript squads in Lt. Gen. Karl’s command were given color and animal
designations.
Badger Group
(originally Green Badger) was one such squad, made up of individuals from the
north Mossreach area. It was led by Sergeant Thomas of Boarlanding. Over the
course of the campaign it was merged with other groups but maintained the
designation Badger Group until the battle of Mist Valley. While active, Badger
group was distinguished and noted for its ability and was frequently used as a
scouting squad. The original members of Badger group were:
